What's the deal? X2M ConnectDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (ASX:X2M) has secured firm commitments to raise roughly $2 million in a placement, funding its expansion into the data centre sector. The raise, priced at $0.004/share, drew support from professional investors.

What's the endgame? X2M provides energy management systems and sensor monitoring technology for data centres and their surrounding precincts. Its AI-enabled platform connects devices across manufacturers and networks, letting operators manage power generation, battery storage, cooling, sensors, metering, and connectivity in one real-time system.

The proceeds will fund data centre sensor integration, platform enhancements, battery energy management, and smart community infrastructure. X2M plans to be involved from design through construction and long-term operations, generating ongoing platform and SaaS revenue.

By the numbers: X2M entered FY27 with about $3 million in contracted revenue, including a recently announced $1.1 million contract with the City of Seoul to supply a further 50,000 HelpMe devices.

What's next? Following the placement, X2M intends to launch a fully underwritten Securities Purchase Plan to raise a further $1 million on the same or similar terms, allowing existing shareholders to participate.

The signal: The quick re-raise reflects how listed technology firms are moving fast to position for the surge in data centre buildout, where energy efficiency is becoming a central concern for operators.
