What's the endgame? ABC will offer a full IVF cycle, including medications, for $8,995 — well below the roughly $23,500 US average for a single cycle. Chief executive officer Van Spina says the goal is to become "the place Americans go to start their families," targeting 250,000 babies a year within a decade.
Why now? About 12% of American couples struggle with infertility, but only 14% of them receive IVF, largely due to cost, the company says. Spina, who went through multiple failed IVF cycles with his fiancée, said the experience "pushed me to build the kind of fertility company we wished had existed when we began treatment."
Who's behind it? Co-founder and chief medical officer Dr. Paul Magarelli is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist who developed the Clinical Fertility Physician certification, training generalist clinicians to perform routine fertility procedures under specialist oversight. Spina previously worked as a technology investor at Warburg Pincus before founding a data business in private credit.
The signal: With IVF still out of reach for most who need it, ABC is betting that a lower price point can expand a market long constrained by cost — and that a physician-led, tech-assisted model can scale it.
