UpKraft raises ₹1.6 crore in pre-seed round led by PedalStart

What's the endgame? UpKraft delivers expert-led extracurricular learning at homes, in societies, and in schools. Co-founded by Tejasvi Singh Kushwah, Varun Mangal, and Kritika Varandani, it wants to become "India's leading AI-powered extracurricular learning platform," Kushwah said.
Where's the money going? UpKraft will build AI tools including an AI Practice Companion, adaptive learning journeys, and parent dashboards with real-time progress insights. It will also expand its hyperlocal model across Bengaluru and Gurugram, and hire across product, technology, sales, and tutor operations.
Why now? India's extracurricular learning market is fragmented, Kushwah said, with families struggling to find trusted instructors, consistent quality, and visibility into their child's progress.
The signal: PedalStart co-founders Manas Pal and Aditya Darolia said the team showed "strong execution discipline and early traction in a hyperlocal, community-led model that is difficult to replicate." The bet reflects investor appetite for asset-light, technology-first plays that aim to organise India's scattered consumer education market.
