How it came together: The round ran from March. Albatross Investment, SK Securities, and one domestic strategic investor each paid in 1 billion KRW for a combined 3 billion KRW; Korea Development Bank will close the round with a 2 billion KRW payment on July 24.
What's the endgame? Founded in 2019, Innodtech builds AI orthodontic tools, including treatment-planning software Dr.AlignNavi and clear-aligner solution clara AI. It uses meta-learning AI trained on 3D clinical data to automatically map how a patient's teeth should move, helping clinicians plan treatment.
Why now? The company is targeting US Food and Drug Administration approval in September or October and is pursuing European CE MDR certification. The new capital goes toward overseas licensing and global marketing across Korea, the US, and Europe.
Chief executive officer Joo Bo-hoon said the plan is to expand beyond orthodontics into "an AI-based oral healthcare platform" that manages overall oral health. The company is also preparing prevention-focused products such as mouthguards.
The signal: The round sits in roughly the sixth percentile by size, a modest raise that reflects an early-stage bet rather than a headline deal. But the timing — pegged to imminent regulatory approvals — shows a small startup positioning to move from a single Korean product into regulated Western markets.
