What's the deal? Vietnamese insurer Techcom LifeDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → said One Mount GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has taken over VingroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →'s entire 10% stake, effective July 20, 2026. Techcombank keeps its 80% holding, with the remaining 10% held by other shareholders.
Why now? The move is the latest step in a long-running portfolio restructuring by Vingroup, the conglomerate chaired by billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong. Techcom Life said the change followed the plan of the parties involved and complied with applicable regulations.
What's the endgame? Techcom Life was licensed by Vietnam's Ministry of Finance on July 16, 2025, with an initial charter capital of VND 1,300 billion. Techcombank has since raised that capital several times, lifting it to VND 2,100 billion; a further contribution approved on June 30, 2026 could push it to VND 4,500 billion.
Who's buying? One Mount Group was established at the end of 2019 and builds digital platforms across real estate, retail, and services. The deal is expected to open opportunities in technology and insurance product distribution, though effectiveness depends on the parties' future strategies.
One Mount Group could help Techcom Life reach customers beyond Techcombank's traditional bancassurance channel. If data protection rules are met and customer consent obtained, applying data and technology could improve how the insurer analyses needs and personalises products.
Leadership has also shifted. In early June 2026, the Ministry of Finance approved the appointment of Nguyen Anh Tuan as chairman, replacing Chung Ba Phuong.
The signal: The transfer reflects Vingroup's continued shedding of non-core assets while Techcombank deepens its bet on insurance. Yet with One Mount Group holding just 10%, its influence over Techcom Life remains limited.
