Altius lifts TNR Gold stake with C$1.7M share buy

What's the deal? Altius MineralsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has increased its strategic stake in TNR GoldDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → Corp (TSX-V:TNR) through a C$1,710,050 secondary purchase, the company said in July. Altius bought 7.435 million shares at C$0.23 each on the public market, lifting its total holding to 30.935 million shares.

Why now? The purchase follows a strategic investment TNR announced on May 25, 2026, marking a quick return by the same investor. Executive chairman Kirill Klip said that earlier deal "enabled TNR Gold to advance the execution of its strategic plan."

What's the endgame? TNR runs a royalty-focused model spanning energy metals and gold. Its portfolio includes projects tied to McEwen Inc., Ganfeng Lithium, Lundin Mining, and BHP that could generate royalty cash flows.

Klip framed the strategy as a dual bet: exposure to critical materials "powering the Energy rEVolution" and gold as "the ultimate hedge during this part of the economic cycle."

He noted his own personal holding of 27.963 million shares as a signal of confidence, and said the stake remains non-controlling.

The signal: Altius doubling down within two months points to growing investor appetite for royalty plays that combine energy-transition metals with gold. For small-cap TNR, a repeat buy from a strategic backer is a vote of confidence in its asset base.
