Striverobotics raises hundreds of millions of yuan Series C led by Innolight, state capital

What's the deal? Chinese special-robotics maker Striverobotics has closed a Series C round of several hundred million yuan, co-led by Innolight and Zhejiang state-owned vehicle Qiangang Capital. Guangxi's Guangtou Capital, Guohai Securities, Juntong CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, and Zhongji Xuchuang joined, while existing shareholder Fosun RZ CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → increased its stake.

What's the endgame? Founded in 2015 and spun out of Tsinghua University's mechanical engineering department, the company builds robots for dangerous high-altitude work such as ship rust removal, wind power maintenance, and bridge inspection. Founder Xu Huayang's stated mission is "to eliminate dangerous jobs in the world."

By the numbers: Its ship rust-removal robots serve more than 100 shipyards and hold over 70% market share. They have cleaned more than 10,000 cargo ships of 100,000 tons and above, cutting costs 30% to 50% and running five to six times faster than manual methods.

Why now? The company has raised again quickly, a signal that investors see a proven business model rather than a research bet. It now aims to move beyond hardware, building a vertical world model that turns fixed-action machines into industrial agents with autonomous decision-making.

The signal: While humanoid robots dominate headlines, capital is flowing to less glamorous but commercially proven niches. With over 10 million high-altitude workers in China and close to 50 million globally, Striverobotics is betting that replacing high-risk labour is a clearer path to scale.
