Tritility buys Envisij to give 5,000 clients free energy monitoring before MHHS shift
What's the deal? TritilityDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a UK business energy consultancy, has acquired EnvisijDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a real-time energy monitoring platform originally developed in Cumbria in 2014. The deal also includes Envisij's companion products, Read My Tariff and Energy Map, and brings several Envisij team members into Tritility. Financial terms were not disclosed.
What does each side do? Founded in 2019 and based in Jarrow, Tritility helps commercial organisations with energy procurement, connections, management, and carbon reduction. Envisij, sold by Fuuse, provides real-time visibility of electricity, gas, and water use through software analytics and optional hardware.
What changes for customers? Every Tritility client will get software-based energy monitoring at no additional cost, with advanced hardware monitoring — including circuit-level analysis — available for those needing deeper insight. The platform has helped organisations cut HVAC costs, spot six-figure billing errors, and reduce overall consumption by 5% to 25%.
Why now? The deal aligns with the UK's transition to Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS), which bases electricity settlement on half-hourly consumption data ahead of full implementation in 2027. "With MHHS approaching, giving organisations better visibility of their energy data has never been more important," said Jamie Wyatt, director at Tritility.
What's the endgame? Tritility will roll Envisij out across more than 5,000 businesses and 17,000 meter points, then extend it through its sub-broker network. Launched less than a year ago, that channel already supports more than 100 brokers, who will get white-label access at no extra cost.
Michael Gibson, CEO of Fuuse, said Tritility is "well placed to continue developing Envisij" as "businesses continue their electrification journey."
The signal: As MHHS reshapes how UK businesses are billed for electricity, real-time consumption data is shifting from a nice-to-have to a commercial necessity. Bundling monitoring into a consultancy's core offering signals that energy advisers are moving beyond procurement toward active usage management.
