Indonesia's Aerion Motors raises $600K to build a design-led EV brand
What's the deal? Aerion MotorsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an Indonesian electric motorcycle startup, has raised $600,000 in a pre-seed round. The company did not disclose its investors.
What's the endgame? Aerion wants to be the first design-led electric motorcycle lifestyle brand in Indonesia. Its first model, Luna, is a retro-modern bike aimed at design-conscious urban consumers, with a 120 to 160km range, a 90km/h top speed, and IoT-connected features. It targets a price of around $2,100.
Beyond the bike: The strategy extends past the vehicle itself. Aerion plans to design and sell its own merchandise, apparel, and accessories, and its flagship showroom doubles as an in-house cafe with a members' lounge where customers can wait while their bikes charge or get serviced.
Where the money goes: The fresh capital will fund prototype validation, supplier readiness, homologation preparation, and launch planning. Aerion aims to raise a $2 million seed round later this year to fund its initial commercial rollout.
The signal: Indonesia is one of the world's biggest motorcycle markets, and Aerion is betting that a premium, brand-led experience can carve out space against mass-market rivals. It is a wager that Indonesian riders will pay for design and identity, not just transport.
