Hyve buys three European tech events to build AI 'super vertical'
What's the deal? UK-based events organiser HyveDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has acquired three European technology conferences: RAISE SummitDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Machina SummitDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Signal Week, formerly known as Paris Blockchain Week. The deals follow Hyve's purchases of LegalTechTalk and Virtuosi League in mid-2026.
What are they? RAISE Summit is a European AI event that drew 9,000 attendees from 90 countries in 2026, with a third of buyers coming from C-suite roles at Fortune 1000, CAC 40, FTSE 100, DAX and S&P 500 companies. Machina Summit focuses on physical AI and robotics, while Signal Week is a blockchain and crypto event that welcomed more than 10,000 attendees from over 100 countries in 2026.
Who built them? All three events were founded by Michael Amar, Charlie Meraud, Henri Delahaye and Hadrien de Cournon, entrepreneurs who built communities around emerging technologies before they reached the mainstream.
What's the endgame? Hyve CEO Mark Shashoua said the deals establish a new AI "super vertical" while strengthening its fintech position, where the crypto event joins Fintech Meetup. The events move into Hyve's Acquisitions and Best Practice division, which offers integration support and international expansion through geo-cloning.
Why now? The purchases come soon after Hyve launched Ascend30, its value creation plan running to 2030. "The Go27 transformation was complete and company re-invention done. Now, Ascend30 is more about super verticals and consolidation of best practices," Shashoua said.
What about the new owners? Private equity firm Hellman & Friedman took control of Hyve in June 2026, after the Ascend30 strategy had begun. "Hellman and Friedman liked what they saw and bought in to the plan which boils down to we are going to do more of what we have proved works exceptionally well," Shashoua said.
The signal: Hyve's buying spree shows established events organisers racing to consolidate around AI, robotics and crypto, the sectors drawing the most founder, investor and enterprise interest. By clustering category-defining brands into themed verticals, Hyve is betting that owning the rooms where these industries gather is a durable business.
