BXI Robotics raises tens of millions of yuan for humanoid robot ODM push

What's the deal? BXI RoboticsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Chinese ODM solution provider for humanoid robots, has raised tens of millions of yuan in an early-stage round from A-share listed firm Sunlution Technology. The company will spend the money on next-generation robot R&D and overseas expansion.

What's the endgame? BXI supplies brand clients with white-label humanoid robots, joint motor modules, motion control algorithms, and application software. It targets companies that want their own robots but lack the time or team to build from scratch, where self-development runs two to three years.

Full-stack play: Founded in 2022 by CEO Chen Yan and co-founder Liu Fuqiang, BXI began humanoid R&D in 2020 and handles complete-machine design, core motors, control algorithms, and software in-house. "We start from the complete machine requirements and reverse-design every single component," Chen said.

Why now? When BXI started, high-torque motors for demanding moves like backflips weren't commercially available. It built its own, developing planetary joint motors with 800 N·m peak torque and a 1,000Hz control system. Its module range now covers all 31 degrees of freedom in a robot's body.

Track record: BXI is one of few ODM providers to complete a robot marathon. Its mass-produced "Elf 2" finished the first Beijing Humanoid Robot Half Marathon in April 2025 in 4 hours, 2 minutes and 19 seconds, taking sixth place.

Backers: This round follows BXI's first institutional financing in 2025, backed by listed company Fast Corporation. Two listed firms have now invested in sequence.

The signal: Humanoid robotics is drawing steady capital as buyers rush to launch branded products without the cost of full development. BXI's bet is that reliable mass-production delivery — not just prototypes — decides who wins the ODM market.
