OneDigital acquires $1.8B Rosenthal Wealth Management team from Cetera

Who is Rosenthal? Founder and president Larry Rosenthal established the firm in 1995, building it around long-term relationships across generations. It now serves more than 2,000 households nationwide, concentrated in the Mid-Atlantic, with offices in Maryland and Western Pennsylvania. The firm will adopt the OneDigital brand while keeping its team and client relationships, gaining access to OneDigital's wealth and retirement plan platforms plus its insurance offerings.
Why now? Rosenthal was affiliated with Voya FinancialDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → Advisors for about 25 years before moving to Cetera in around 2021, according to BrokerCheck. "We spent nearly two years looking for an ally who could match our commitment to clients while giving our team room to grow," Rosenthal said.
What's the endgame? The deal marks the 23rd wealth manager acquired by OneDigital's Overland Park, Kansas-based RIA channel over the previous five years, spanning individual clients and employer-sponsored retirement plan sponsors. In February 2026, it acquired a similarly sized team ($1.73 billion) in San Jose, California.
The signal: The move lands as investment banks DeVoe & Company and Marshberry forecast another potentially record-breaking year for M&A in the RIA space, with well-capitalised aggregators like OneDigital driving consolidation. Earlier in 2026, OneDigital was among several wealth managers hit by a data breach involving Salesforce that exposed thousands of customers' data.
