Endo Tools raises €20M Series C to expand endomina platform in the US

What's the deal? Belgian medical device maker Endo Tools Therapeutics (ETT) has closed a €20 million ($23 million) Series C round to accelerate US, European, and Middle East commercialisation of its endomina platform. Capricorn PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → led the oversubscribed round via its Capricorn Healthtech Fund II, with support from MGFODealroom has a profile for this one. What's the endgame? ETT makes endoscopic devices that let physicians perform suturing through the mouth, a natural orifice. The endomina platform attaches suturing units to standard endoscopes, and the company says it is the only system that can be assembled on the endoscope inside the stomach.

Why now? The raise follows US Food and Drug Administration clearance of ETT's endomina EZFuse system, which adds a single-movement suturing mechanism that speeds up procedures. Part of the funding will go toward collecting clinical evidence needed for a US weight loss marketing indication.

What's the endgame, in numbers? The platform targets patients with Class I and II obesity seeking a minimally invasive alternative to chronic GLP-1 therapy — or a combined approach. "This financing marks an important step in scaling ETT's presence in the U.S., European and Middle East markets," said chief executive officer Alexandre Chau.

The signal: Investor Filip Pintelon of Capricorn Partners said the EZFuse clearance and US strategy leave ETT "very well positioned to transform gastrointestinal care." With demand for less invasive procedures driving double-digit growth in endoscopic suturing, this step-up round positions ETT to chase a slice of a multibillion-dollar market.
