Try Dealroom →, carving it out into an independent platform under new private equity ownership. ARRI Rental supplies premium camera, lighting, grip, and production equipment rental services to the film and television industry. BDODealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → acted as lead M&A adviser to the management team; terms were not disclosed.

What each side brings: ARRI Rental Group comprises ARRI Rental Services UK, ARRI Rental Deutschland, Camera Service Center Inc., and the rental operations of ARRI Canada. It supports major feature films, high-end television, streaming content, and commercial projects across Europe and North America.

Why now? BDO was first engaged by ARRI Rental Services UK's management to pursue an acquisition opportunity, then ran a competitive process spanning multiple jurisdictions, diligence, carve-out, and regulatory workstreams.

What's the endgame? Under H2 Equity Partners, ARRI Rental plans to keep investing in its rental fleet and expand its international footprint. Founded in 1991, the Western European investor focuses on mid-sized businesses and specialises in corporate carve-outs, succession deals, and buy-and-build strategies.

Duncan Lamb, partner at BDO M&A, called it "a highly complex international transaction involving multiple jurisdictions, carve-out considerations and numerous stakeholders." He added that H2's "experience supporting carve-outs make them an excellent partner for the business as it enters its next phase of growth."

Dana Harrison, managing director of ARRI Rental Services UK, said the company was "excited to partner with H2 Equity Partners" and looked forward to "building on ARRI Rental's strong market position in the years ahead."

The signal: Corporate carve-outs remain a staple of private equity dealmaking, letting parent companies shed non-core divisions while sponsors take specialist assets independent. For ARRI Rental, separation from ARRI AG frees it to chase growth in a production equipment market shaped by rising demand from streaming and high-end television.
