Fundraise

Othor AI raises ₹60 lakh bridge round, recruits its lead investor as product chief

What's the deal? Othor AIDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an AI-native business intelligence startup, has raised ₹60 lakh (about $70,000) in a convertible bridge round. Backers include Amit Ashu, Avinash Kumar of EasyShip, and Balasubrahmanyan Sridhara of NVIDIA. The raise brings the company's total early-stage funding to roughly $150,000.

Why now? The round is a bridge ahead of a planned seed raise. Founder and chief executive officer Unni KorothDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → said it lets Othor AI "enter our seed round from a position of strength."

The key hire: Amit Ashu, a former colleague of Koroth at Whatfix, went beyond writing a cheque and joined Othor AI as chief product officer. The move strengthens a founding team pushing towards product-market fit.

What's the endgame? Founded in September 2024 by Koroth and Nekender Shekhawat, Othor AI positions itself as an "AI Head of Intelligence" — an alternative to tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Looker. It connects to a company's data, surfaces metrics and anomalies with no coding, and delivers daily insights in plain language.

The new capital will extend runway, fund product development and customer acquisition, and lay groundwork for US market entry.

The signal: Othor AI's raise shows a step-up in conviction, with earlier backers doubling down alongside new angels. For an early startup, that repeat support is often a clearer read on momentum than the headline figure.
