Guoce Quantum raises 100M CNY to build homegrown atomic clocks
What's the deal? Guoce Quantum Technology has raised 100,000,000 CNY (roughly $14.8 million) in a Series A round. The financing came from Huzhou Jinkun Equity Investment Partnership and Huzhou Nantaihu Juchuang Equity Investment Partnership.
What's the endgame? The company develops quantum precision measurement instruments, including chip-scale atomic clocks. It is building a production base for these high-end instruments, aiming to make domestic production fully self-controlled and break foreign technical barriers and military export controls.
What are the applications? Guoce targets uses across navigation, autonomous timing terminals, military communications, electronic warfare, micro-nano satellites, autonomous driving, the internet of things, and underwater detection.
Why now? The round marks a quick re-raise for Guoce, signalling steady investor appetite as it moves toward commercial production. The company frames its work as addressing key "bottleneck" components in critical technology.
The signal: China's push to localise high-end instrumentation is drawing capital toward quantum measurement startups. Guoce's raise reflects the strategic weight placed on domestic atomic clocks and precision timing — technologies with both civilian and defence stakes.
