El Jamón buys Supermercados Dani to complete Andalusia expansion

The details: The acquired stores span the region — 14 in Granada, two each in Jaén and Málaga, and one in Almería. With the integration, El Jamón reaches close to 300,000m² of retail space, plus another 14,000m² for wholesale operations.
The expansion angle: The Adra store gives El Jamón its first foothold in Almería, the only Andalusian province where it wasn't present. That completes its footprint across all eight provinces and deepens its presence in eastern Andalusia.

What's next? Integration begins in October, when stores will progressively switch signage to operate under the El Jamón brand.
What they said: The deal is "an excellent opportunity to keep consolidating our position in the province of Granada and continue growing in Andalusia," said chief executive officer Mabel Díaz. She added that the company keeps expanding by absorbing Andalusian family firms that share its values.
The signal: The purchase reflects continued consolidation in Spain's regional grocery sector, with El Jamón scaling through acquisitions of like-minded family operators. Sales rose 40% and the chain expects to top €1,000 million in 2027.
