What does Rock River do? With nearly 50 years of history, it runs nine laboratories across the US and Canada, offering soil, feed, and environmental testing to farmers, agronomists, nutritionists, food producers, and municipalities.
What's the money for? The capital supports organic growth and future acquisitions in what GroundForce calls a "highly fragmented" North American agricultural and environmental testing market. GroundForce partner Eric Desai, who leads the firm's consumer supply chain infrastructure strategy, has joined Rock River's board.
Why now? GroundForce sees the segment — part of the broader testing, inspection, certification, and compliance industry — poised for consolidation as demand for regulatory-driven testing accelerates.
What's the endgame? The firm plans to invest in service, technology, and selective acquisitions. "We see a unique opportunity to build on that trust by investing in service, technology, and selective acquisitions that bring more capabilities to more customers," Desai said.
The signal: The investment marks GroundForce's expanded mandate beyond consumer-facing health and wellness brands into the infrastructure and services that underpin them. As Aqua Capital partner Eli Ziskind put it, GroundForce brings "deep experience in consumer and supply chain infrastructure" to strengthen Rock River in environmental and consumer testing.
