Amplix buys OneConnect in 15th deal since 2022 launch

The deal marks Amplix's fifteenth acquisition since the platform launched in 2022.
What does each side do? Amplix provides technology strategy, consulting, implementation, and managed services to more than 3,500 clients across AI, cloud, infrastructure, security, and other areas. Founded in 2004 and based in St. Petersburg, One Connect helps clients source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships across a broad network of providers.
The rationale: The purchase strengthens Amplix's technology procurement and lifecycle management capabilities. One Connect stays involved through each engagement, holding suppliers accountable and resolving issues as they arise.
What changes? One Connect's leadership and team join Amplix, with operations continuing under the Amplix brand. Clients keep the same team, now backed by Amplix's broader platform.

One Connect chief executive officer John Smack said joining Amplix gives his firm "greater resources, expanded expertise, and access to a wider range of capabilities to serve the organizations that count on us."
The signal: Amplix is building scale through steady acquisitions, adding a fifteenth firm in four years while consolidating a fragmented technology advisory market. Gemspring, which manages $5.1 billion, is betting that combining sourcing expertise with managed services and emerging AI tools will keep the platform competitive.
