Wysiwyg Studios and NP merge to form Com2uS N media group
What's the deal? Wysiwyg Studios and NP have completed their merger and launched a combined entity, Com2uS N, the company said on July 15. The two firms approved the tie-up at an extraordinary shareholders' meeting on June 12.
What's the endgame? The merger creates an integrated media content group spanning content planning and production, artificial intelligence, visual effects (VFX), extended reality (XR), new media, and brand experience. It pairs Wysiwyg's film, drama, and entertainment production with NP's XR and brand experience business.
Why now? The final major step remains: the listing of new merger shares, scheduled for August 14. The "N" in Com2uS N stands for narrative, network, and next.
AI angle: Com2uS N plans to make AI a core growth axis, applying it across content planning, production, and distribution. On June 29, Wysiwyg Studios signed a memorandum of understanding with AI chip firm Furiosa AI to develop AI models tailored to media production and build workflows for use on content sets.
The company said it will use content intellectual property (IP) and technology to pursue growth in domestic and overseas markets. "The launch of Com2uS N is an important turning point," a company representative said, adding that it aims to combine content IP with future technologies such as AI and XR "to create new business value in the global market."
The signal: The deal reflects a push among content producers to fold AI and immersive technology into traditional production, betting that combining IP with emerging tools opens new revenue models beyond film and drama.
