Mio raises €1.9M pre-Seed to build an AI colleague inside Slack

What's the deal? Paris-based startup MioDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → has emerged from stealth with a €1.9 million ($2.2 million) pre-Seed round to build an AI colleague that operates inside Slack. Fabric.vcDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Topology.vcDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → co-led the round. Founded in 2025 by repeat entrepreneur Arthaud MesnardDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, Mio plans to spend the money on engineering hires, product development, and customer growth across Europe and the US.

What's the endgame? Rather than another chatbot employees must remember to open, Mio integrates with existing team workflows to complete recurring tasks, keep information current, and advance work proactively. It connects to tools a team already uses, learns company context over time, and executes work across those systems instead of only suggesting.

How is it different? Mio is grounded in a client's own data — messages, documents, tickets, and calendar — and takes actions on the client's behalf. It is model-agnostic, combining top AI models for different tasks rather than locking customers into one provider.

What could go wrong? Data access is a common concern for tools that read internal messages and files. Mio says its access is limited to channels it is invited to and DMs with its app, that optional integrations such as Google Workspace, Notion, and GitHub activate only if a client connects them, and that it does not train models on customer data. It adds that it is GDPR compliant and runs on Google Cloud Platform in Europe with encryption at rest and in transit.

Why now? "The launch comes as AI shifts from answering questions to getting work done," Mio said, arguing that a new generation of agents is beginning to operate inside the tools teams already use. The company says over 100 companies, from early startups to Series B scaleups, use it daily, and that early-access customers save an average of 8.2 hours a week.

The signal: "We don't think the future of AI at work is another app people have to open," said Mesnard, founder and chief executive officer. Mio's bet — that Slack becomes the home for agents that act, not just chat — reflects a broader move from AI chat interfaces toward embedded, task-executing systems.
