Persol backs Indian on-site installation startup Wify

What's the deal? Japan's Persol Holdings has invested in Wify, an Indian startup that provides on-site installation and after-sales services for home appliances and household equipment. The investment was made through Persol Venture PartnersDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and announced in July 2026.

What does Wify do? Founded in 2019 and based in Mumbai, the company recruits, trains, and deploys technicians to install and repair products in customers' homes. It runs a B2B2C model, partnering with brands to support their service operations.

By the numbers: Wify works with more than 100 brands and has served over 1 million households. It operates across more than 90 Indian cities and offers over 10 service categories.

Why now? India's rising urbanisation and expanding consumer market are driving demand for installation, repair, and after-sales services. A shortage of skilled technicians has become a bottleneck, one Wify aims to close through its in-house training and deployment model.

What's the endgame? Persol said Wify's technician-training model creates jobs and builds skills as consumer demand grows. That aligns with the group's goal to "create better work opportunities for 1 million people by 2030."

The signal: The deal marks a Japanese staffing group extending its human-capital thesis into India's fast-growing services economy, betting that product sales will keep pulling service demand along with them.
