Hysab Kytab lands seed round at Rs 20 crore valuation to build AI accounting agents

What's the deal? Hysab KytabDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Surat-based AI-powered accounting platform for small and medium businesses, has raised an undisclosed seed round from angel investors and high net worth individuals at a Rs 20 crore valuation.

What's the endgame? The startup wants to replace the patchwork of separate billing, bookkeeping, compliance, and reporting tools with a single cloud-native platform. Launched in 2022 by Shrigopal Malani and Abhinav Sharma, it targets accuracy and financial visibility while cutting the need for multiple software subscriptions.

Where's the money going? Proceeds will fund an AI Intelligence Layer, including an Audit Agent, Tax Preparation Agent, Accounts Receivable Agent, and Accounts Payable Agent. The company also plans to expand customer acquisition, scale its CA Partner Program across India, and hire across product and business roles.

By the numbers: Hysab Kytab claims more than 30,000 sign-ups and over 2,700 paying SMEs and startups. Monthly revenue grew nearly sixfold in a year, from Rs 4.18 lakh in May 2025 to Rs 25.01 lakh in June 2026.

Why now? India's accounting software market was valued at nearly $699 million in 2025 and is projected to reach nearly $1.5 billion by 2034, growing at a compound annual rate of 8.83%.

What could go wrong? The space is crowded. Hysab Kytab competes with Vyapar, Tally, Khatabook, MyBillBook, Zoho Books, Busy, and Swipe, as well as manual Excel workflows.

The signal: The round reflects investor appetite for AI-native tools aimed at India's SMEs, a segment where automation and consolidation promise to displace both legacy incumbents and spreadsheets.
