Alinabal buys 50-year aerospace machiner Industrial Precision

Founded in 1974, Industrial Precision brings more than 50 years of experience and longstanding customer relationships that complement Alinabal's aerospace and defense business. Terms were not disclosed.
What each side brings: Alinabal, founded in 1913, makes precision metal components and assemblies for high-performance industries across six facilities in Connecticut, South Carolina, and Massachusetts. Industrial Precision runs a 25,000-square-foot plant with 60 employees and holds AS9100, ISO 9001:2015, and ITAR certifications.
Why now? The deal adds capacity and capability to Alinabal's manufacturing network while reinforcing shared customer relationships. "Many of their customers are customers we already know well, which makes this a natural fit," said Steven Gore, chief executive officer of Alinabal Group.
What changes? Industrial Precision will be rebranded as Alinabal but keep serving customers from Westfield. Alinabal plans to expand the facility and grow its workforce beyond 60.
Who runs it? Doug Smith, president since 2006, will consult during the transition before retiring at the end of 2026. Steve Hitchcock, currently vice president, becomes general manager. "Our people built this business on precision and reliability, and that won't change," Hitchcock said.
The signal: The acquisition reflects continued consolidation among precision manufacturers serving aerospace and defense, where certifications and long customer track records are hard to replicate. For Alinabal, buying an established supplier is a faster route to added capacity than building it.
