Time is Brain raises €3M pre-Series A, wins EU clearance for stroke tech
What's the deal? Barcelona-based Time is Brain has closed an oversubscribed €3 million pre-Series A round and secured CE/MDR approval for BraiN20, its Real-Time Stroke Intelligence platform. The company builds technology that gives clinicians continuous neurological data to speed up stroke decisions.
Why now? The two milestones land together as the startup prepares its European rollout later this year. CE/MDR clearance opens the door to commercial sales across the EU.
What's the endgame? Stroke care has long relied on point-in-time imaging such as CT and MRI. Time is Brain argues clinicians need continuous neurological insight instead, since every minute of delayed treatment raises the risk of irreversible brain damage.
The funding will support commercial expansion, distributor onboarding, market-access work, and ongoing clinical evidence generation.
"Stroke is one of the few medical emergencies where every minute directly influences a patient's future," said Alicia Martínez, neurologist, co-founder, and chief executive officer. "The CE/MDR approval and this investment allow us to bring that vision into clinical practice in Europe."
The signal: Stroke affects more than 10 million people worldwide each year and remains a leading cause of death and long-term disability. As diagnostic tools shift from episodic snapshots to continuous monitoring, Time is Brain is positioning itself early in a category it calls Real-Time Stroke Intelligence.
