Japan's Infuse Life Science raises seed round from BD Fund, Incubate Fund for fallopian imaging

What's the deal? Infuse Life Science, a Tokyo-based life sciences startup focused on women's health, has raised a seed round from BD Fund and Incubate FundDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, it announced in July 2026. The company also secured selection for the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development's (AMED) 2026 medical-engineering global expansion programme.

What's the endgame? The company is developing a single-use endoscope to inspect the inside of the fallopian tubes directly. It aims to replace hysterosalpingography (HSG), the standard infertility test, which is available at only a limited number of facilities and cannot assess the tubes' internal condition.

The disposable design removes the need for complex sterilisation, making the system easier for clinics to adopt. The product is still in development and has not received regulatory approval in Japan.

Why now? The AMED grant funds non-clinical research aimed at the US market, targeting outpatient use to reduce patients' physical and psychological burden. The startup says the funding will accelerate research and development of its flagship products and prepare for US expansion.

Who's backing it? BD Fund supports global healthcare startups, while Incubate Fund is one of Japan's largest seed-stage investors. "Infuse Life Science is a startup taking on an unexplored frontier of medicine tied to the beginning of life," said BD Fund chief executive officer Yujiro Maeda.

Founded in December 2024, Infuse Life Science works across obstetrics, reproductive medicine, and perinatal care. Chief executive officer Daisuke Saito said the company plans to move beyond diagnostics into new treatments, AI-driven fertility research, and oncology work centred on the fallopian tubes.

The signal: The dual milestone — public funding plus private capital — reflects growing investor and government appetite for women's health and reproductive medicine, a long-underserved field where diagnostic gaps remain wide.
