Carel buys Danish dehumidification firm Cotes for €56.1M

Who is Cotes? Founded in 1986 and based in Viby, near Aarhus, Cotes employs more than 120 people and runs a production facility in Poland. It projects revenue of around €31.5 million in 2026, with EBITDA of roughly €6.5 million.

Its product range spans modular and mobile dehumidifiers, desalting systems for offshore wind applications, and ultra-low dew point solutions for critical manufacturing.

What's the endgame? Carel says the purchase fits its strategy of growth through targeted acquisitions of complementary technologies in HVAC and refrigeration. Adsorption dehumidification expands its humidity management capabilities.

Why it matters? "This acquisition represents another important step in the execution of our strategy to strengthen our position in highly specialised segments of climate control and energy efficient solutions," said Carel chief executive officer Francesco Nalini.

The signal: Carel is betting that pairing Cotes' expertise with its global reach and direct customer relationships will open growth across a wider range of industrial applications.
