Olenox buys PsyLinks in $500K stock deal to add AI to its energy assets
What's the deal? Olenox IndustriesDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → (NASDAQ:OLOX), a vertically integrated US energy company, has completed its acquisition of PsyLinks Neurotech Corp., an applied intelligence firm founded by neuroscientists Michael McLaren-Gradinaru and Ford Burles. Under a Share Exchange Agreement, Olenox acquired all outstanding PsyLinks shares for roughly $500,000 in restricted common stock. PsyLinks now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary.
What each side brings: Olenox operates across oil and gas, energy services, and energy technologies, and is pushing low-cost natural gas toward digital infrastructure and next-generation compute. PsyLinks develops closed-loop systems that capture synchronised multi-modal data, interpret it in real time, and generate operational insights.
What's the endgame? Olenox wants to layer applied intelligence and data analytics across its energy and infrastructure assets. It believes the technology can sharpen operational visibility and decision-making while supporting its digital infrastructure push.
The new hires: As part of the deal, the two founders joined Olenox — McLaren-Gradinaru as vice president of technology and Burles as vice president of product development. Their roles tie PsyLinks' capabilities directly into Olenox's operations.
What could go wrong? The acquisition may count as a related-party transaction under Securities and Exchange Commission rules, due to a familial relationship between one seller and Olenox's chairman. The company said its independent board members reviewed and approved the deal, with the interested director abstaining.
Why now? Chairman and chief executive officer Mike McLaren framed the purchase around returns. "Shareholders should ask one question about any acquisition we make: how does this make us money?" he said, adding that PsyLinks strengthens the plan to "create more value from the energy and infrastructure we own by applying intelligence across our operations."
The signal: An energy producer buying a neurotech-rooted analytics startup underlines how power and compute are converging, as operators chase more value from the natural gas feeding data centres and next-generation compute.
