What's the deal? Arqaam CapitalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an investment bank focused on emerging and frontier markets, will open an office in Kuwait after Badr Nasser Al-Kharafi's BNK Holding Group joined as a strategic investor. The National Investments Company (NIC)Dealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, one of Kuwait's most prominent investment firms, also came in as a strategic investor.

What's the endgame? The office marks Arqaam's push to serve institutional, corporate, and sovereign clients up close in one of the Gulf's most developed financial markets. The bank called Kuwait a strategic market within its regional expansion plans.

Why now? BNK Holding chairman Badr Nasser Al-Kharafi tied the move to Kuwait Vision 2035 and its push to strengthen the private sector. "We are also working hard to attract foreign companies to the State of Kuwait," he said, citing the vision of Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to make Kuwait a regional financial and investment center.

What changes for the market? Al-Kharafi said Kuwait would benefit from enhanced access to regional and international investment networks, advisory expertise, and capital market talent. The partnership also aims to create quality local jobs and attract global investment.

The signal: Arqaam CEO Riad Meliti called the deal "an important milestone" as the bank strengthens its foothold in key GCC markets, betting that a local platform tied to an established Kuwaiti group can capture rising investment activity across the country's public and private sectors.
