What does FreshPure do? It sells premium bulk filtered water through retailers nationwide. The company installs and services filtration systems and dispensing kiosks in stores under a revenue-sharing model with retail partners.
Why now? Rise Run sought a partner to fund the next phase of growth after a period of rapid growth in recent years. FreshPure's kiosk model generates recurring revenue and drives store foot traffic, according to the advisers.
Who's buying? TowerBrook is a value investor focused on services businesses across North America and Europe, spanning business services, consumer products and services, financial services, and healthcare. Its Delta fund backs companies designed to deliver measurable social or environmental impact — a fit for FreshPure's positioning as a low-cost, environmentally friendly hydration option.
The perspective: "FreshPure's powerful value proposition and loyal consumer base lead to high recurring revenue," said Chris Stradling, the Lincoln International managing director who led the transaction. He cited "pent-up demand from existing retail partners" and rising consumer awareness of water quality.
The signal: The deal reflects private equity's appetite for recurring-revenue consumer models tied to health and sustainability trends. It also marks a fund-to-fund handoff, with one PE owner passing a scaled asset to a larger buyer positioned to fund further expansion.
