AutoVitals buys Mastertech.ai to add AI diagnostics for repair shops

What does each side do? AutoVitals sells online booking, digital inspections, workflow management, CRM, and marketing tools to independent shops. Mastertech.ai combines OEM repair information, vehicle service history, shop management data, and a database of real-world repair orders to help technicians diagnose vehicles and build estimates.
What's the endgame? AutoVitals wants service professionals to access diagnostic help, maintenance alerts, wiring diagrams, and technical service bulletins directly inside its workflow. The hire: Linda GrayDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, founder and chief executive officer of Mastertech.ai, joins AutoVitals to guide product strategy and lead the integration. "Together, we'll be able to bring AI-powered service intelligence to significantly more shops," she said.
What changes for customers? Nothing immediately. Mastertech.ai will keep operating as it does today, and AutoVitals customers will later be able to add its features as an optional enhancement.
The signal: As vehicles grow more complex and shops face pressure to serve customers faster, software vendors are racing to embed AI in the workshop. AutoVitals is betting that owning the diagnostic layer — not just the workflow — is where the next competitive edge lies.
