What's the deal? Commercial Glass Specialists has acquired Dual Seal GlassDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Huddersfield-based glass processing firm with a turnover of about £13m, in a pre-pack administration deal. Joint administrators Sean Williams and Phil Deyes of Leonard Curtis were appointed on 29 June 2026, concluding the sale the same day.
Who's involved? Dual Seal Glass, incorporated in 1995, makes high-performance insulated glass panels for construction and employs around 90 staff. All were transferred to the buyer under TUPE regulations.
Why now? The company had faced mounting financial pressure from historic product liability claims, bad debts, rising costs, and supply chain issues.
What changes? The business will keep trading and retain its customer relationships. Managing director Shazad Hussain said Commercial Glass will be "investing in the business going forwards."
How it came together: Administrators instructed Cerberus Group to value the business, which was marketed before administration. Commercial Glass won through a competitive bidding process, with legal advice from Andrew Jackson Solicitors and new funding arrangements put in place.
The signal: Pre-pack deals remain a common route for salvaging struggling but viable firms. As Williams put it, the structure "preserves employment, and achieves better creditor outcomes" while sparing a 90-strong workforce.
