What's the endgame? BEM's product, BEM HUB, uses learning journeys, gamification, and artificial intelligence to support ongoing employee development. It aims to replace one-off training with small daily experiences that build habits and generate data for human resources teams.

Why now? Recent updates to Brazil's Regulatory Standard No. 1 (NR-1) expanded attention to psychosocial risk factors at work. BEM has built an NR-1 management hub into its platform, letting companies track related indicators, organise action plans, and centralise compliance data.

What's the money for? The investment will accelerate platform development, expand AI-based features, grow commercial operations, and strengthen partnerships across Brazil.

Founder and chief executive officer Marco Santana said the NR-1 update marks a paradigm shift. "Durante muito tempo, as empresas olharam para saúde e benefícios como iniciativas isoladas," he said, arguing companies now see behaviour, culture, leadership, and wellbeing as one strategy.

The signal: BEM's plan reflects a broader convergence of health techs, HR techs, and corporate education platforms. Rather than just offering benefits, the company wants to fold human development, technology, and organisational management into a single experience.
