Luminii's seventh acquisition takes it underwater with Croatia's Filix Lighting
What's the deal? LuminiiDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Niles, Illinois architectural lighting company, has acquired Filix LightingDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a Croatian manufacturer of pool lights and underwater fixtures based in Pazin. It's Luminii's seventh acquisition since 2019.
What each company does: Luminii builds architectural lighting for buildings and interiors. Filix, in business more than two decades, has made its name on urban, exterior, and underwater lighting for architects and cities.
What's the endgame? The deal gives Luminii an entry into underwater and marine lighting it did not previously have, plus Filix's presence in European and Middle Eastern markets. Luminii framed the acquisition around design continuity — the idea that a building's lighting vision shouldn't stop at the property line.
What changes for customers? Both companies say the Filix brand, team, and customer relationships will stay intact. Filix told its agents to expect the same products, people, and support, plus expanded resources and a broader platform. Those assurances are standard in acquisition announcements.
Why now? The pattern is by now unmistakable. Luminii buys specialists — a directional-lighting shop in Calgary, a patented linear-LED maker in Chicago, a pair of British companies that gave it a remote-control lighting category, a low-profile downlight maker, a maker of vandal-resistant sconces for hospitals. Each deal filled a gap the last one didn't; Filix fills the underwater and international gap.
What could go wrong? Not every Luminii deal is announced the same way. The February 2026 Alva Lighting acquisition came with no press release; Inside Lighting reported it after noticing Alva quietly appear as a Luminii brand, weeks after the deal reportedly closed. The Filix deal, by contrast, arrived with a full rollout: an article, a message to agents, and an executive quote.
The signal: Seven deals in seven years is roughly one acquisition a year, sometimes two, and Luminii is not slowing down. For agents and specifiers, the question is no longer whether Luminii will make another move — it's which niche gets absorbed next.
