EPA grants ENF Products $400K to develop nanofiber air filter

Why now? This is a Phase II award, following $100,000 the company received in Phase I. SBIR funding flows in stages: Phase I backs proof of concept, while Phase II supports further development and commercialisation.
What's the endgame? ENF Products aims to bring the filter to market for homes, businesses, and other indoor spaces. The company can secure up to $100,000 in additional matching funds if it lands an equivalent third-party investment during the project.
"ENF Products is doing Oklahoma proud with their innovative project that could help make homes, businesses and other indoor environments safer and healthier," said Region 6 Administrator Scott Mason.
The signal: The EPA is one of 11 federal agencies running SBIR, which has funded environmental technologies for more than 40 years. This round of Phase II awards targets challenges from water quality monitoring and PFAS contamination to recycling and safer chemicals — with indoor air quality now among them.
