Try Dealroom →, a free-to-play fantasy gaming and prediction platform built for reality TV fans. Terms were not disclosed. Lucra will embed its free-to-play rewards software development kit (SDK) into Bracketology, which keeps running as a standalone product.
What does each company do? Lucra offers a plug-and-play SDK that integrates into apps or websites, enabling peer-to-peer competitions with real-money or rewards. Bracketology grew out of Bach Bracket, a fantasy football-style game built around The Bachelor and The Bachelorette , before expanding to cover the full reality TV landscape.
Why now? Bracketology topped 100,000 monthly active users during the autumn 2025 peak reality TV season and has drawn partnerships with Us Weekly and FOX. It has grown to more than half a million players with minimal paid acquisition.
The hire: Co-founders Kaitlyn HurleyDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → and Jonah FialkowDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → join Lucra, with Hurley — previously Bracketology's chief marketing officer — stepping into the role of director of Bracketology.
What's the endgame? Lucra plans to give reality TV watchers something tangible to compete for across every bracket and lineup. Custom mobile mini games will add engagement between weekly episodes. The rewards SDK rolls out to the full player base in the back half of the season.
Over 60% of Bracketology's players are women, a demographic Lucra says most gamification platforms have never meaningfully reached.
"Most platforms spend years and millions of dollars chasing what Kaitlyn and Jonah achieved by simply making something people genuinely wanted," said Dylan Robbins, founder and chief executive officer of Lucra. "The learnings go both ways."
The signal: The deal shows gamification firms chasing engaged, underserved niches — here, a competitive, largely female reality TV fanbase — rather than building audiences from scratch.
