Infobip buys US email firm SocketLabs to expand enterprise infrastructure
What's the deal? Infobip, the global cloud communications platform, has acquired US company SocketLabsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, which builds infrastructure for sending high-volume email across multiple providers. Financial terms were not disclosed.
What's the endgame? The deal strengthens Infobip's position in email infrastructure and delivery. It adds capabilities for large enterprises and independent software vendors (ISVs) to manage, track, and optimise high-volume email sending.
Why now? Infobip, marking its 20th anniversary this year, wants to transform into what it calls an "AI-first" company. It said the acquisition supports that goal, with SocketLabs' analytics set to feed into its Email Deliverability Agent tools.
What's the strategy? Chief executive Silvio Kutić said the combination makes Infobip "the only provider that can cover a customer's entire email business, and not just one part of it." SocketLabs, based in Pennsylvania with nearly two decades of experience, brings a customer base concentrated in North America and a growing presence in Latin America — regions where Infobip is expanding.
What changes for customers? The Pennsylvania team has spent years helping large enterprises escape lock-in to providers they had outgrown, offering clearer visibility across email providers and low-risk migration. SocketLabs chief executive Tim Moore said joining Infobip would let it "accelerate innovation" and offer its email capabilities to companies worldwide.
The signal: The purchase reflects continued consolidation in enterprise communications, as platforms bundle channels under a single provider. For Infobip, adding proven email technology deepens its appeal to enterprises and ISVs seeking one vendor across every communication channel.
