Ascend adds $59.6M Kreischer Miller to its accounting platform

Ascend, based in Arlington, Virginia, is a platform launched in January 2023 by private equity firm Alpine Investors that buys accounting firms with $15 million to $50 million in revenue.
Why now? Ascend has built scale quickly. It ranked No. 24 on Accounting Today's 2026 Top 100 Firms list, reporting $590 million in revenue, 282 partners, and over 2,600 employees across 63 offices.

The firm has become a destination for top talent in Philadelphia, added Ascend president Nishaad Ruparel.
