Who's involved? Sellick Partnership, a wholly owned subsidiary of Samsic Group, recruits across construction, engineering, local government, healthcare, and financial services. Its office network spans Manchester, Liverpool, London, Newcastle, Birmingham, Derby, and Leeds.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Birmingham, Gleeson Recruitment Group provides executive search, interim management, transformation, and specialist recruitment across accountancy and finance, HR, law, life sciences, and technology. It has further bases in Castle Donington, London, Reading, and Salisbury.

What changes? Little, for now. Co-founders Jason Blakey, Tony Gleeson, and Jason Granger will continue to lead Gleeson alongside its existing management team, and the brand remains unchanged.

Why it matters? Hannah Cottam, chief executive at Sellick Partnership, said the two teams share an "entrepreneurial spirit, commitment to excellence and long-term approach to growth." The founders said Samsic and Sellick's backing lets them "continue to grow while retaining a personalised, transparent and sustainable approach to recruitment."

The signal: The deal is another step in the consolidation of UK specialist recruitment, as larger backers absorb regional players to build a wider national footprint while keeping their acquired brands intact.
