Pye-Barker buys Maryland's ResponseTECH in latest fire-safety deal

What does ResponseTECH do? It provides security systems including intrusion and fire alarms, access control, central station monitoring, nurse-call and mass emergency notification systems. Its clients span commercial facilities, education, and senior living.

What's the endgame? Pye-Barker calls itself the largest fully integrated fire protection, life safety, and security services provider in the US. Adding ResponseTECH widens its Maryland customer base and service range.

What changes for customers? ResponseTECH's technicians will continue serving Maryland customers. The company handles services from planning and design through ongoing testing and maintenance.

The signal: Pye-Barker keeps consolidating a fragmented fire and safety market. With more than 250 locations and 9,000 team members, it markets itself as "the industry's acquirer of choice" — and this deal shows the pace holding steady.
