Oxbridge Re raises $7.1m across five tokenized reinsurance offerings on Solana

The numbers: The HCI Re Series A, B, and C tokens now target annualised returns of 224%, 122%, and 17%, assuming no underwriting losses — down from initial estimates of 243%, 133%, and 19%. Oxbridge Re's T20-2027 tranche was revised up to 26%, while the T42-2027 tranche was cut to 32%.
Why it matters? The company said it will record about $13.1 million of new restricted assets on its balance sheet as collateral. It described this as its largest issuance to date, a clear step up from prior rounds.
What's the endgame? Since launching its tokenization platform, SurancePlus has completed offerings across four consecutive treaty years, issuing roughly 1.27 million tokenized securities and raising more than $16 million in aggregate gross proceeds across multiple blockchains.
In their words: "This approach enables qualified investors to gain blockchain-enabled exposure to specified reinsurance risk without participating directly in the underlying reinsurance program," the firm said. Chairman and chief executive officer Jay Madhu called the five offerings "another significant milestone."
The signal: Reinsurance is joining the wave of real-world assets moving on-chain, as issuers seek new routes to risk capital and qualified investors chase high-yield exposure — with returns here stretching into the triple digits.
