Ex-Boeing and Amazon leaders buy 3D printing firm Zenith Tecnica, expand to eight machines

What does Zenith do? Founded in 2014, the company produces titanium components for aerospace, orthopaedic, and high-performance marine sectors. It has supplied structural parts for NASA's Psyche mission and the Space Development Agency's Tracking Layer constellation through a decade-long partnership with Lanteris Space Systems, now part of Intuitive Machines.

Why now? Demand has outpaced supply. Over the year to mid-2026, Zenith's machine allocation became fully committed, and revenue has climbed 490% since FY2020 under outgoing owner Heather Grace.

The expansion: Alongside the acquisition, the new owners launched a program to grow capacity from six EBM systems to eight and shift the facility to larger premises. That would cement Zenith as one of the largest EBM manufacturing providers in the world.

What's the endgame? The owners want to scale a business already trusted across highly regulated industries. In medical work, Zenith produces patient-matched orthopaedic implants and surgical guides built around individual anatomy — complex geometries that EBM titanium printing can deliver with the consistency clinical cases require.

What changes? Grace will stay as interim general manager through August 2026 to steady the transition before stepping toward retirement. "My goal was always to strengthen the business, continue to nurture and build our capable team, and ultimately transition it into the hands of owners who could drive its next stage of growth," she said.

The signal: The deal reflects rising industrial demand for metal additive manufacturing, particularly in space and medical applications where titanium's strength and design flexibility are hard to match. As satellite constellations and patient-specific implants scale, specialist EBM capacity is becoming a strategic bottleneck — and a target for operators betting on its growth.
