Ecowaste buys Missouri's Bilyeu Disposal in its 10th tuck-in deal

What's the deal? Ecowaste SolutionsDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a regional waste and recycling company operating across 10 states, has acquired Bilyeu DisposalDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a locally owned trash service in Chadwick, Missouri, southeast of Springfield. Customers across Chadwick, Garrison, Oldfield, and Sparta now operate under the Ecowaste banner. Terms were not disclosed.

Who's involved? Bilyeu Disposal was founded by Travis Bilyeu, a lifelong resident of the Springfield metro area, who is joining Ecowaste as a CDL driver. He will keep running the same routes for the families and small businesses he has served for years.

What's the endgame? The deal is a direct tuck-in to Ecowaste's existing Springfield operation and its 10th acquisition since the company's merger. It builds on a strategy across Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma: buy locally rooted operators, keep the people behind the relationships, and invest in the systems behind them.

Why keep the founder? Retaining Travis is central to the rationale. "Travis spent years earning the trust of his customers, and that kind of trust doesn't transfer with a contract. It transfers with the person," said chief executive officer Dustin Reynolds.

Reynolds framed the small towns as the point of the deal, not an afterthought. "Chadwick, Garrison, Oldfield, and Sparta aren't line items to us," he said, adding that keeping Travis means service "doesn't change, even while everything behind the scenes gets stronger."

Bilyeu echoed that continuity mattered most. "These are my neighbors, not just my customers," he said. "Staying on as their driver means the face they trust is still the one showing up."

The signal: Ecowaste is consolidating fragmented, family-run waste operators one town at a time, betting that keeping familiar drivers preserves customer loyalty through ownership changes. For a sector built on local relationships, retention of founders — not just routes — is becoming the acquisition playbook.
