Try Dealroom → Group, has completed the acquisition of Mastercam IndiaDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, its long-standing channel partner. The company announced the deal on July 7, 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.
What changes for customers? Very little day to day. Mastercam India will keep its existing team and customer relationships, now operating inside the global Mastercam organization with access to its wider resources and technical expertise.
What's the endgame? Mastercam wants tighter integration between its local Indian operation and its global specialists. "By bringing the Mastercam India team more closely into our global organization, we are strengthening our local support while enabling closer collaboration across our global network," said president Russ Bukowski.
Why now? India's manufacturing sector is a growing and increasingly competitive market. The deal lets Mastercam pair the local team's understanding of regional needs with its own technology, positioning it to offer scalable software and long-term support as demand rises.
The context: Mastercam has run since 1983 and claims more than 450,000 installations worldwide. It sits within Sandvik's digital manufacturing portfolio; Sandvik reported about SEK 121 billion in revenue and roughly 42,000 employees across some 150 countries in 2025.
The signal: Bringing a trusted distributor in-house is a familiar consolidation move — swapping the arm's-length partner model for direct ownership to control quality and knowledge sharing. For Mastercam, it signals a bet that India is a market worth owning outright rather than serving through intermediaries.
