Minuteman, a national systems integrator based in Andover, Massachusetts, announced the deal on July 7, 2026. Terms were not disclosed.
Who's involved? PLT was founded in 2004 by John Gendron and Rich Bedner as a structured cabling company, expanding into electronic security in 2009. It serves customers across the Carolinas and nationwide in manufacturing, automotive, healthcare, education, retail, government, commercial, and industrial markets.
What's the endgame? The deal strengthens Minuteman's presence across the Southeast and expands its ability to deliver integrated security, life safety, structured cabling, and enterprise technology solutions nationwide. PLT provides video surveillance, access control, wireless networking, voice and data infrastructure, and paging, with experience on multi-site national deployments.
Why now? "Together we are even better positioned to support our customers with expanded capabilities, greater resources, and the local responsiveness they expect," said Ron Oetjen, chief executive officer of Minuteman.
What changes for customers? PLT customers keep working with the same team, now backed by a broader network. "They'll continue working with the team they know and trust, now backed by an even broader network of industry experts, expanded technical capabilities, and nationwide resources," said Rich Bedner, PLT's chief operating officer and vice president.
The signal: The deal reflects continued consolidation among security and low-voltage integrators, as national players absorb regional specialists to combine local relationships with nationwide reach.
