Carson Group deepens Kentucky push with FFR Wealth Team deal

What's the deal? Carson GroupDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a wealth advisory firm with over $60 billion in assets under management, has acquired FFR Wealth Team, converting it into an integrated Carson Wealth office. Based in Covington, Kentucky, FFR serves roughly $201 million in assets and focuses on multi-generational planning for affluent families, business owners, and retirees.

Who's involved? FFR is led by managing partners and wealth advisors Shelley Funke Frommeyer and Scott Reynolds. The team first partnered with Carson as an independent office in 2018.

Why now? Frommeyer framed the move as a bid for stability and succession. "Carson gives us the added resources and succession path to build something enduring," she said, pointing to long-term planning "for the next 100 years."

What's the endgame? As a Carson Wealth office, the team gains access to advanced planning resources, operational support, and Private Client Services offerings. The goal is to free advisors to focus on client relationships while Carson handles back-office work.

The market expansion angle: The deal extends Carson's presence in Northern Kentucky, where FFR has built a community-centered practice. It ties the expansion directly to the acquisition, giving Carson a deeper local footprint through an existing team rather than a new build.

What did Carson say? "What drew us to this team years ago still defines them today — humility, authenticity and an unwavering commitment to the people they serve," said Burt White, chief executive officer of Carson Group. He said the transition reflects a shared vision of strengthening client relationships and delivering greater value to investors.

The signal: Converting a long-standing independent partner into a fully integrated office reflects a broader consolidation trend in wealth management, where scale, succession planning, and shared infrastructure increasingly shape how advisory firms grow.
