Open Point acquires Converlens to turn feedback into decisions

What's the deal? Open PointDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, a community and stakeholder engagement platform, has acquired ConverlensDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom →, an AI-powered analytics platform for public consultation workflows. Terms were not disclosed. The deal folds Converlens' technology into Open Point's community engagement and stakeholder relationship management products.

What does each company do? Open Point helps organisations capture and manage engagement across a project lifecycle. Converlens analyses large volumes of qualitative feedback — consultation responses, submissions, transcripts, and stakeholder communications — for government, infrastructure, utilities, and regulated industries.

Why now? Organisations delivering infrastructure, utilities, energy, transport, and community projects face rising pressure to engage stakeholders while managing growing volumes of feedback. Many still rely on manual processes to analyse responses, creating reporting bottlenecks.

What's the endgame? Open Point wants to bring engagement, relationship management, and insights under one platform. "We're helping customers move seamlessly from input to insight to impact," said Ben Cowling, chief executive officer of Open Point.

Clint Walker, co-founder of Converlens, said the two firms share a belief that "technology should help practitioners focus on outcomes rather than administration." He added that "too much valuable insight is still trapped in spreadsheets, reports and manual processes."

The signal: The deal reflects consolidation in engagement technology, as buyers seek combined tools that link feedback capture with analysis. It strengthens Open Point's position across government, infrastructure, utilities, energy, and planning clients in North America and beyond.
