Who's involved? Founded in 2001, Campbell Strategies runs practices across government relations, strategic communications, stakeholder management, policy development, and transaction and litigation support. Its team includes principal advisor Barry Campbell, senior advisor Paul Brown, vice president Gayle Nathanson, and director Natalie Dash.

The group brings decades of experience across federal, provincial, and municipal politics; law; financial regulation; and private-sector advisory work.

The acquirer: StrategyCorp, founded in 1995, provides government relations, communications, and management consulting counsel to clients in Canada and abroad. It has more than 140 employees and offices in Ottawa and Toronto.

What's the endgame? The deal adds subject-matter depth and political expertise to StrategyCorp's integrated offering. "The addition of Campbell Strategies strengthens that competitive edge," said Chris Loreto, managing principal at StrategyCorp.

For Campbell, the fit was strategic. "StrategyCorp has an established 30-year track record and an exceptional reputation — it was a natural destination for Campbell Strategies' practice and team," he said.

The signal: The tie-up reflects consolidation in Canada's public affairs market, as clients increasingly seek advisers that combine policy substance with political read. Loreto framed the demand bluntly: clients "want strategy that delivers results, not just meetings."
