Adaptive Insurance raises $5M Series A to expand climate coverage

What's the endgame? Adaptive plans to expand its specialty insurance portfolio, grow its distribution network, and develop its climate intelligence platform. Its product line includes GridProtect, a parametric coverage for short-duration power outages launched in 2025, and the technology platform behind Tokio Marine HCC's restaurant recovery coverage.

The signal: The backing of specialist funds such as Seraphim Space and insurer-linked IAG Firemark Ventures points to growing investor appetite for startups pricing and covering weather-related risk as climate volatility reshapes the insurance market.
