Heidmar acquires Q-Shipping, adding nine vessels and three new countries

What's the deal? HeidmarDealroom has a profile for this one. Try Dealroom → Maritime Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: HMR) has completed the acquisition of Q-Shipping B.V., a Netherlands-based ship management and crewing business, for total consideration of about US$0.2 million. The deal closed effective 1 July 2026, funded from cash on hand, with no regulatory approvals or post-closing conditions outstanding.

What changes? The acquisition adds nine vessels to Heidmar's managed fleet and establishes an operating presence in the Netherlands and Turkey, plus a dedicated crewing capability in Ukraine. Heidmar now manages about 50 vessels under commercial management and 16 under technical management.

Who's involved? Heidmar is an Athens-based commercial and pool management business serving the crude and product tanker market, with operations in Athens, London, Singapore, Chennai, and Hong Kong. Q-Shipping brings established ship management, technical, and crewing operations.

Why it matters. The deal extends Heidmar's footprint into two maritime hubs — the Netherlands and Turkey — positioning it closer to shipowners and cargo flows in both markets, while the Ukraine crewing platform deepens access to seafaring talent and in-house technical capabilities. It reflects Heidmar's asset-light strategy: growing its managed fleet and reach with minimal capital, and management expects the deal to be immediately accretive to management fee revenue.

The signal: Heidmar is buying reach, not steel. The tiny price tag shows how tanker managers can scale fleet and geography through bolt-on service businesses rather than capital-heavy vessel purchases. "It is a small investment with strategic value, and it reflects the disciplined, capital-efficient way we plan to build the Company," said chief executive officer Pankaj Khanna.
